The Story
The Storytellers began as a rebel
faction, protesting certain policies in Bastok which its members found to be unfair.
However, although the group opposed the president and his cabinet, they were friends
with Cid and refrained from violence, choosing instead to distance themselves
from Bastok's circle of influence. They moved their headquarters out to the sparkling
sands of Selbina and became residents of the town. Their domain firmly set in
the Siren Sands, they remain to help Bastok in times of trouble, but keep their
distance whenever possible.
With the threat of the beastmen
looming over the enlightened peoples once more however, it has become more and
more apparent that unity will be required if the world is to remain safe. To that
end, the Storytellers have pledged themselves to conquer and eradicate the beastmen
whereever they exist. However many have given their lives in the struggle, and
it seems that the task may not be accomplished in a single lifetime. Not only
that, but future generations will need to carry on the struggle for equality and
unity the Storytellers envision.
To achieve this purpose, the current
generation has chosen to record their tales, so that their descendants might be
given a foundation upon which to uphold the cause. These tales are written in
their language, for their people, to further illustrate a new mentality. Strength,
justice, and unity are their ideals, and in their stories shall these truths be
told.

The Creed
The Storytellers ideal is to treat
others with a certain amount of courtesy, and to educate when ignorance exists.
Individuals who are stubbornly ignorant or disruptive and rude cannot become members,
nor will they be tolerated if they persist in their negative habits. Those who
are shining examples of the Storytellers creed are often appointed deputies, and
it is their responsibility to keep the peace, recruit members, and provide guidance
when needed.

Membership
If you are entertaining the idea
of joining the Storytellers, please be aware that we are denizens of Leviathan,
and situated near Bastok in Zulkheim. Our traditional meeting place while in the
game is Selbina, or just nearby on the Siren Sands. All inquiries regarding becoming
a pariah [member] should be sent to either a partha [deputy] or the Madhi [leader].
If a regular member wishes to propose membership for a friend, it will be taken
into consideration by the parthii and/or Madhi.
